Every time his eyes met hers, both of their faces would light right up. Usually when asked to look at each other up close, I get awkward laughs and blushes from my couples. But these two, these two were all smiles and laughs every single time their eyes met. Every. Single. Time. I was really digging the moody vibes during the session. Especially towards the end. Those clouds! The birds! But the second Heather and Liam would turn back to each other after a pose or prompt, huge grins would spread across their faces. Their happiness made the moody effect difficult, but I think we still managed! These two were so much fun to hang out with. It’s clear that they truly find joy in laughing and having fun together, my favorite kind of couple! They are so alike in so many ways, both have adventurous spirits and love exploring and trying new things. But during our session, I learned that while Heather loves all things horror and true crime related, Liam does not! And yet, he still braved a stay in a haunted hotel just for her! Talk about true love!
When I asked where they would like to have their engagement session, it was obvious that there was no better place than their favorite hiking spot, Governor Dodge State Park. These high school sweethearts love hiking, camping, and all things travel. They have spent so much time in this park hiking together and Liam even proposed to Heather here! I absolutely adore when my couples want to shoot in places that mark important milestones in their life and relationship. No matter what the future holds for these two, they will always have these memories and photos to look back on. That is my favorite part of being a photographer, the ability to stop time and preserve memories. Thank you Heather and Liam for showing me around your favorite place! I can’t wait to go back again when the trees are full of leaves and the weather is sunny and 75! Looking forward to your wedding this summer, I know we’re going to have a blast!
