There’s nothing I love seeing more than a man in love. Especially when I get to photograph it in real time. The way Matthew looks at Abby is just about the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. I know that taking photos isn’t most guys’ idea of a good time. But what always fills my heart with joy is when they show up and have fun anyway, just to make their person happy. About 20 minutes into our session, Matthew told me it wasn’t as bad as he had thought, and he was even enjoying himself! That’s a win in my book!! It might sound weird for a photographer to say, but I also know the struggle of feeling awkward in front of a camera. And I’m so appreciative of every single person that trusts me to direct them, take their photos, and give them beautiful results in return.
Abby & Matthew decided on the beautiful Mirror Lake State Park for their session location. These high school sweethearts are from the area, and have memories together at the lake which always makes me happy! Abby told me about how one summer day, she and Matthew took the girls she watches to Mirror Lake to do some kayaking. It was a beautiful day, and she was sure they would love it. Turns out they did NOT love it, and Matthew stepped up to save the day and “rescue” the girls! Everyone was completely fine, but when I heard the story, I just had to laugh at the picture it made. A man in love will do just about anything; even rescue screaming girls from a kayak.
Thank you, Abby & Matthew for putting your trust in me! You both are so sweet and fun-loving and I just know your wedding day will be so full of love and laughter. I look forward to capturing it all at your wedding next year!
Love them!!!!
